When you join Verizon

We’re a diverse network of people driven by our ambition and united in our shared purpose to shape a better future. Here, we have the ability to learn and grow at the speed of technology, and the space to create within every role. Together, we are moving the world forward – and you can too. Dream it. Build it. Do it here.

What you’ll be doing...

We are constantly innovating to unleash the power of our network and technology and you can ensure we are staying at the forefront providing an unequalled customer experience. You will be a key member of the HQ strategy team, focused on the technology evolution of wireless network functions end to end in our organization. Your role will involve leading the overall deployment and design of the feature roadmap for our virtualized wireless solutions. Interfacing with many internal and external stakeholders, you’ll integrate solutions with all other areas of the organization. You will have the opportunity to transform long-standing procedures and operations within the organization.

  • Lead efforts to develop an understanding of Verizon’s current wireless network infrastructure technologies as well as where Verizon needs to invest (via capital and partnerships) to drive their disruptive transformation.
  • Focus on diversifying and driving cost efficiencies within Verizon’s infrastructure vendor and technology portfolio by bringing in new, disruptive and forward-thinking partners.
  • Work closely with the larger planning teams to design our virtualization efforts including new on-boarding methodologies, open and closed loop service assurance practices, and tying them in with new and legacy tools to enhance and automate aspects of FCAPS.
  • Gain insight into opportunities to improve network costs by developing TCO models and working with the engineering teams to better understand the most cost effective deployment options for new technologies.
  • Interface with functions within the business including internal and external system architects, product line managers, network operations leads, DevOps leads, and a variety of both business and technical organizations spanning our organization.
  • Be responsible for briefing Executive Leadership on the current status of supplier technology and relationships with both incumbent and non-incumbent suppliers.
  • Gather input from internal stakeholders and compile documents and scorecards as input to theses briefings.
  • Work across multiple supplier categories, such as Wireless, Verizon Cloud Platform, Security, etc. to influence end to end designs and supplier strategies.

In this hybrid role, you will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

People know you for your ability to analyze issues and solve complex problems with innovative solutions. This helps you to work well with partners from non-technical functions and build strong cross-functional relationships. Thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, you manage competing priorities with ease, and never lose your laser-sharp focus on meeting tight deadlines.
