What you’ll be doing...

The NBI Operations team is seeking a Program Management professional to join the team who is passionate about driving operational cadence and supporting project execution in support of a portfolio of new and nascent businesses. This position is responsible for supporting the Strategic Planning team responsible for operational planning and other strategic program management and will report directly to the Manager of Strategic Planning.

As a Program Management professional, you’ll be a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual who thrives on the process and rewards of program implementation for leading edge technology teams. In this role, you’ll be focused on the coordination and execution of various operational planning and other strategic operational projects, including tracking and managing implementation status, coordinating meetings, preparing materials, assigning tasks as needed, creating reports, contributing to retrospectives, archiving materials and much more. Given this role will be critical to execution of the core NBI operational programs, you’ll be someone who is willing to roll up your sleeves when necessary and thrives in process improvement. Since you will be working with a variety of teams and managers, it is important that you are personable team-player, empathetic to the unique nature of each team’s work while focused on deliverables. We are looking for someone who is confident in their skills, but always willing to ask questions and contribute.


  • Management of the NBI Operations team planning calendar which critically establishes resource allocation and work cadence for the Business Operations team overall. This person will also manage and lead a challenging transition of the calendar from Smart sheets to Google Calendar for easier calendar sharing.
  • Own all document archiving for Business Operations documents and files, including presentation decks, reporting results, surveys, communications and much more. This includes providing teams with frameworks for how to archive materials and assisting each team with updating files and file clean up on a regular basis. This person will also lead efforts to migrate previous document libraries into the new system.
  • Manage implementation of Retrospectives (post-mortem) Work streams, then coordinate creation of these important documents with team leads. Quarterly and End-State Retrospectives will be compiled and used for agile program improvement and further process improvement. This person will manage the auditing of Retrospectives and archive/share learnings for ongoing program improvements.
  • Partner with Privacy Project Manager for compliance work streams including meeting coordination with business unit points of contact, outbound communications of updates and requirements, tracking of business unit contributions and more.
  • Ownership of Bus Ops Intranet site to ensure that it is an optimal communications and warehouse for information critical to the Business Operations team. This will include coordination with NBI Communications leadership for content and look/feel differentiation. This person will also be responsible for any content and layout updates.
  • Coordinate layout and content creation for biweekly Business Operations email updates which communicates critical information to the team on weeks we do not have a virtual team meeting. Update distribution lists and ensure receipt by small list of key internal Verizon folks.
  • Create implementation processes which can be easily duplicated and shared for future programs.
  • Other Responsibilities
    • Set up calls and trainings.
    • Send surveys and other outbound communications to teams.
    • Manage distribution lists.
    • Software and tools recommendations for program implementation.
    • Admin support if needed.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Four or more years of program execution-related work experience, including experience working on large-scale program implementation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs including PowerPoint and Excel. Smartsheets experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of tech and corporate culture.
  • Ability to manage complex programs and drive cross-functional teams to meet business objectives and influence co-workers while fostering strong working relationships.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working across all levels of an organization, leveraging organizational, interpersonal, presentation, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage and execute competing tasks and multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently with excellent time management skills.
  • Experience handling confidential information appropriately.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced business that can change quickly.
