What you’ll be doing...

Verizon is looking for an experienced attorney to join the M&A and strategic transactions group.

  • Lead M&A, joint venture, venture capital and other strategic transactions on behalf of Verizon.
  • Work closely with internal clients in the business development team and business units to achieve their objectives.
  • Coordinate and work closely with other subject matter experts in the legal and other departments in Verizon.
  • Independently draft and negotiate term sheets, MOUs and other transaction documents.
  • Manage and coordinate legal due diligence processes.

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • JD degree and six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Active and in good standing with a state bar and, if necessary, eligible for limited In-House Counsel Licensure.
  • Three or more years of M&A experience at a top law firm.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Professional ethics, integrity and judgment.
  • Highly motivated with excellent interpersonal and written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to professionally manage time, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and process a high volume of work in a timely and accurate manner with a high attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work independently and autonomously, and as part of a team.
  • Proven ability to spot problems and develop and lead implementation of appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to interact comfortably with all levels of personnel and enforce legal requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle extremely sensitive and confidential information.
