What you’ll be doing...

We constantly seek to improve the customer experience with our innovative technologies and elite service. That’s where you come in. You will provide Technical Engineering support as part of a project team responsible for a product and technology transition of a large customer network. You will become a trusted advisor ideally positioned to satisfy the technical tasks and requirements of the project.

  • Utilize contemporary technologies including Ethernet, Access, MPLS, TCP/IP, IPSec, BGP, QoS, VOIP, IP Telephony, and Multicasting.
  • Be involved in Routed/switched network design, configuration, and activation/cutover activity.
  • Create hardware and software configuration upgrades.
  • Provide IP addressing and routing strategies.
  • Develop individual skill set and expand product knowledge to maximize, including attaining designated certification requirements and attending product-specific training, reviewing technical literature, and obtaining hands-on experience
  • Articulate the Verizon Business vision on new technologies and solutions towards the client, positioning Verizon Business as a thought leader on key technological developments.
  • Assist in customer solutions/technical requirements and champion resolution of product gaps internally in support of Project (also towards Product Groups).

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel, up to 25%, as needed.
  • Experience in Engineering or an Engineering support function.
  • Industry knowledge and experience in the following areas: VOIP and Data CPE, Ethernet Access, CTE, and Telco network topology, Customer facility and equipment room Infrastructure knowledge, Managed Network Services, and/or VOIP communications and technology.
  • Experience developing LAN/WAN/VOIP network solutions, preferablyfor large managed customer networks.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • CCNA experience/certification.
  • Experience with networking concepts including: software defined networking, routing and switching protocols.
  • Experience in the tech industry with experience in pre-sales, customer-facing consulting or other relevant experience.
  • Excellent customer service and organization skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently or as a member of a team.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the following areas: multi-tasking, critical thinking; and the ability to work quickly, efficiently and accurately in a dynamic and fluid environment.
