What you’ll be doing...

Business Intelligence Analyst

Verizon Connect has an immediate need for a Business Intelligence Analyst to cover Business Intelligence and Data Analytics within our engineering hub. In this role you will be reporting to the Senior BI & Data Analytics Manager within Business Operations and you will be working closely with Engineering, Finance and Product Management colleagues to research, define and deliver next generation analytics and insights.
We are looking for a team player who will contribute to our overall success by driving effective collaboration within a team of highly skilled Analysts. We don’t want someone who is just blindly executing queries and presenting reports, but someone who will work to understand our customers and suggest solutions to deliver value.

  • Partner with cross-functional groups across the company to support data needs and drive effective actions.
  • Design, document and deliver reports, interactive Tableau dashboards and business insights to our engineering and product organisation.
  • Embrace our Lean philosophy and look to drive continuous improvement, reducing lead time for our BI customers.
  • Keep up with industry best practices and apply them to our day to work.
  • Track and document all work and research.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant work experience.
  • Experience in working on both traditional database systems and big data platforms.
  • Experience of working with data warehousing and BI technologies.
  • Experience of interrogating data for actionable insights.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience of working with Tableau and Excel.
  • Experience of publishing and presenting data and findings to non-data users.
  • Experience analysing and monitoring data for anomalies.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or similar subject.
  • Experience working with source control systems, test automation, CI/CD in the context of data analysis and data science.
  • Experience with data engineering, curation, ETL and integration as well as related data analytics.
  • Experience of using analytical methodologies such as regression, classification, prediction, machine learning and neural networks.
  • Python skills.
  • Experience in analysing data from Salesforce and SAP systems, and integration between systems.
  • The ability to understand customer requirements, choose the best course of action through collaborative workshops, BI prototypes and iterative development.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and writing skills with demonstrated leadership abilities.
