What you’ll be doing...

We are looking for a skilled, experienced and motivated individual with ability to quickly learn and understand a wide-range of IP Technologies. In this position, you will be responsible for delivering detailed engineering systems solutions in the areas of IP/MPLS network engineering, port and bandwidth capacity engineering, IP network audits, and device-specific configurations in support of the Public IP products and services. You will work on a regular basis on project teams consisting of personnel from other internal teams ensuring that network services are engineered and delivered to the requirements of the project with primary responsibility for systems within network engineering, port and bandwidth capacity engineering. You will assign network ports within the SLA period to ensure the customers CRDD it met. Accurately assign CFA and maintain less than 5% reprov requests for total ports assigned.

  • Correct errors in SNM in effort to reduce number of IT trouble tickets opened.
  • Analyze and approve/disapprove OCN inquiries based on network availability.
  • Provide solutions as needed to support potential customer requirements.
  • In this project team environment, the candidate must work well with all team members of all involved organizations and become integral to the project.
  • Work extensively with Account Sales team in support of new customer additions and understand major network vendors to ensure that Company requirements are engineered and implemented to the required specifications.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with IP networks, network operations and/or equivalent qualified experience in large Service Provider Network.
  • Hands-on experience and platform knowledge of major network vendor equipment providers (Juniper, Cisco, Nokia).
  • Knowledge of Sustaining IP Engineering organization and understanding of Engineering practices and procedures.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Bachelors of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications Management and relevant experience.
  • Excellent communicator and quick learner with excellent interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and a good team player with a willingness to learn.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Aptitude for network & engineering systems as well as data retrieval.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience and in-depth understanding of Public IP networks.
  • Experience with VDDS, OCN Inquiry, IP Net Manager and Planning, SNM, Coffee and Nautilus.
