What you’ll be doing...

  • Search area issuance, candidate assessment, and approvals for macro and small cells.
  • RF design support for bringing these solutions on-air including cross functional collaboration with the Real Estate team.
  • Redesign mature network areas to minimize capacity constraints and improve SINR.
  • Partner with Network Assurance and Network Performance to improve metrics and operational function of the existing network.
  • Create and integrate new capacity solutions into the network utilizing internal tools.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance utilizing Verizon tools and process.
  • Perform macro and small cell technical design tasks including antenna/RF network specification to ensure continued network superiority and capital efficiency.
  • Work on new cell sites, making sure the site is properly integrated into the network, regulatory compliant, and optimized for peak performance.
  • Find and resolve system issues on the network by utilizing traditional and non-traditional means.
  • Interact with cross-functional teams to deploy and optimize components for best efficiency and reliability.
  • Participate in various trials for new technology, antennas, radios, and tools.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.
  • Bachelor’s degree or one or more years or work experience.
  • Valid Driver’s license.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or two more years of work experience.
  • Master degree.
  • Two years or more of experience in the cellular or telecommunications industry with direct experience in RF Design & Optimization.
  • Knowledge of RF theory and practice as well as 5G/LTE/VoLTE Technology.
  • Knowledge of propagation modeling software such as Planet EV, Atoll, etc.
  • Proficient in office computer applications: Various RF tools such as MapInfo, post-processing software, etc., MS office.
  • Programming skills to automate routine tasks or audit RF data.
  • Strong statistical and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel including VB macro creation and worksheet manipulation.
  • Ability to manipulate data in Tableau or other statistical or scripting tools.
  • Analytic, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Capability to be flexible to attempt alternate solutions to resolve issues and seamlessly adjust to a dynamic, changing business environment.
  • Organizational time management, prioritization and project planning skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other teams and disciplines.
  • Ability to work on varied projects under tight deadlines where organization and self-motivation are critical.
