We’re a diverse network of people driven by our shared ambition to shape a better future. Here, we have the ability to learn and grow at the speed of technology, and the space to create within every role. Together, we are moving the world forward – and you can too. Dream it. Build it. Do it here.

What you’ll be doing...

The future is bright at Verizon! Have you ever wondered what the future looks like for Verizon Consumer Group? At VCG’s Strategy’s Strategic Insights team, we shape trends and analysis on topics that the business will experience in the years to come.
As a research strategist, you will link outside developments to VCG and the communications industry - that’s what we do best - to help our leaders understand opportunities and potential risks that may lie beneath the surface. We do this in several ways including hosting bi-annual strategy sessions covering the most pertinent topics, developing and simulating future scenarios, diving deep on an emerging trend or topic and working with business leaders to bring meaningful insights and analysis.

  • Use cutting edge, AI-based, tools to identify and assess new developments across the competitive landscape and macro environment.
  • Plan for the future by developing and simulating future scenarios.
  • Identify and keep track of the latest and most relevant trends across macro, consumer, competitive, technological, and regulatory environments.
  • Leverage critical thinking and problem solving skills (e.g., data-backed analysis, data science tools, valuation methods, hypothesis-driven approach, research & strategy frameworks) to support the analysis and planning of new opportunities and risks.
  • Plan and drive bi-annual leadership strategy sessions.
  • Support the development of board-level presentations and executive presentations, as well as the strategic planning process.
  • Periodically, you will be asked to present analyses and findings to senior level leadership and stakeholders.

What we’re looking for...

You are someone who can find uncommon insights and translate them into meaningful, actionable, strategic perspectives. You have great research and analytical capabilities, and you know how to tell a story while leveraging your analysis. You are driven and curious, and continuously strive to make you and your teammates better. You can see the big picture while also tracking small details. You care about outcomes and get things done. You have great interpersonal and communication skills. You know how to tell a story using data, and you can do this via PowerPoint and/or Google Slides. You can distill, communicate and present complex information in an easily digestible format. You are motivated and resourceful. If one window closes, you don’t stop. You simply find the next one. You're comfortable working in a large, dynamic, and complex work environment where developing and managing relationships are critical to success.
You’ll need to have:
