What you’ll be doing...

This internship position – which is part of the Verizon Campus Program – will give you a chance to channel your drive and enthusiasm while learning from the best minds in the industry. You’ll be front and center, hands-on, and contributing your creative energy to high-impact projects from the moment you arrive through the course of this 10-week experience. You will take part in meaningful work and real-life projects within the Global Network & Technology Organization that will help you grow both professionally and personally throughout the program.

As a Application Development Intern, you may have the opportunity to:

  • You will assist in the expansion of automation and enhance the customer experience for employees by leveraging services provided by Digital Workplace and GTS Operations.

  • You will utilize a multitude of emerging technologies including AI & ML services (data engineering and data science) to unlock exponential value from big data obtained through the Service Management Office.

  • Provide ongoing support to AI & ML operations projects including VCG Home Based Agents (HBA) downtime reduction, automated Slack hypercare, natural language understanding for SMO chatbots, Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) and incident reduction for GTS, and more.

  • Partner to create models around service performance, response etc. Use real time streaming to identify failures and issues.

  • Leverage NLP to extract contractual clauses.

  • Use AI/ML models to ensure contractual compliance.

You must be currently enrolled in a degree program and in good academic standing to be considered.

You’ll need to have:

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology, Data Science, or related major with an expected completion date between December 2023 and June 2024.

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.

  • Willingness to work in Irving, TX.

Even better if you have:

  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills, communication, leadership, and presentation skills.

  • Understanding of Network and Telecommunications, Cloud Computing and Microservice, ava/Python; fascination for data, pattern analysis, problem solving.

  • Experience in SQL, BI, AI/ML and working knowledge of data visualization tools such as Power BI, Looker or Tableau.
