What you’ll be doing...

As a Openshift Platform Engineer - Responsible for designing and building out our capabilities around our next generation Container & Serverless management platform leveraging OpenShift Container Platform (OCP). Research, design, develop and test both software and DevOps techniques to accelerate the build out of Openshift and integrate it into Verizon's ecosystem. This role will require working with the different stakeholders across Verizon to ensure the platform is secure, reliable and meets the needs of the application teams. Develops technology roadmaps.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the security, stability and performance of the Openshift Container platforms in multiple datacenters.

  • Utilize correlated data sources with predictive analytics to ensure maximum operational uptime and adherence to SLOs and SLAs.

  • Install, configure and manage OpenShift cluster and hosts.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience supporting RedHat OpenShift and Advanced Cluster Management, RedHat Linux RHEL 6/7/8.
  • Experience in Shell scripting /Python/Ansible development, CI/CDmethodologies and toolsets.
  • Experience in supporting a large enterprise environment, consisting of thousands of servers.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Three or moreyears of kubernetes observability - grafana, prometheus. NewRelic, Splunk,RedHat OpenShift, ACM, OPA, or Gatekeeper.
  • Experience with conteriner vulnerability management - sysdig, twistlock or alternative.
  • Experience in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
  • Systematic problem-solving approach and a sense of ownership and drive.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team with direct responsibilities.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changes in project scope.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with teammates and internal clients.
