What you’ll be doing...

Customer demand for communications service keeps growing. You will provide leadership and support to oversee the sustainability of the nation’s largest and most reliable network. Your role will involve leading and developing a high-performing team to effectively perform network management responsibilities in support of our key initiatives. We are constantly innovating to enhance the customer experience and you can play a vital role in changing the way our customers live, work, and play.

  • Leading, motivating and developing a high performing team of associate Engineers who are experienced in Outside Plant Design while driving change to meet strategic business goals.
  • Management of all functions of the team including work print design review and approvals, scheduling, performance and time reporting
  • Providing technical assistance and communicating technical information and status to customer service centers, technical support organizations and management teams.
  • Coach and develop a team to have a sense of urgency in providing customer service, satisfaction and on time performance.

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Familiarity with engineering systems like CCP, ICGS, TIRKS, LFACS, vBuild, iVapp, CoFEE, and FIM.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Prior experience with telecommunications engineering.
  • Prior experience supervising union employees.
  • Understanding of various circuit architectures. This would include but not limited to DS1, Ethernet, SONET, Dark Fiber, GPON, and FTTP.
  • Previous experience reading plats and other facility documentation.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Google Workspace including Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc..
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Proven planning and organization skills in a dynamic and high pressure work environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in prior roles.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The ability to act independently with a sense of urgency and appropriately escalate issues as required.
  • The ability to work in a cross functional capacity between various internal and external organizations.
  • Proven ability to balance multiple projects with varying priorities.
