What you’ll be doing...

Manage a team of highly capable field engineers responsible for engineering and installation management of the Domestic US Intelligent Edge Network (iEN), C-Band, Unified Transport, Voice and Data Core networks. Candidate will lead the team in managing both Out of Frachise and In Franchise CCRsthroughout each project’s lifecycle – building the technologies associated with Verizon’s Core Inside Plant networks including: Multi-Service Edge (MSE), ROADM, Voice Over IP, and the supporting host of network ancillary and infrastructure equipment.

  • Provide guidance to team as they engineer detailed network builds for new and existing technologies and manage engineering and installation vendors.
  • Coordinate the management of major network design work and installations across a wide geography and associated communications reporting on corporate strategic initiatives.
  • Investigate root cause analysis and provide remediation options for delays and roadblocks in deploying Verizon’s directional network architecture.
  • Generate and analyze metrics and reports to identify areas of improvement across the team and drive towards continual improved performance.
  • Interface with Operations and other Implementation organizations to obtain critical pre-engineering information, site specific data as well as redlines and other end of job information.
  • Facilitate and maintain relationships with multiple service vendors, including pricing compliance, standards creation and compliance, and conducting quality reviews.
  • Insure that all engineering documentation (including ICON, Venue and CoFEE) is accurate and up-to-date for use by Install, Test, Implementation, Operations, Provisioning, and Planning, Network Capacity Management, and Audit groups.
  • Managing and scheduling multiple projects, balancing workload of engineers on team (and other domestic teams for overflow support), effectively coordinating with Planning and Program Managementorganizations, executive level reporting, presenting and read-outs; employee performance management and reviews.

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Experience in Telecom Engineering and Network Implementation.
  • Strong management and organizational skills.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple, often conflicting priorities to successful completion. Knowledge of telecom networking, IP networks and technologies, equipment designs and configuration procedures, and inventory.
  • Strong technical and project management skills as well as excellent PC and software application skills including Windows and MS Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills for inter-organizational communications.
  • Strong track record of leadership and management.
  • Engineering, Planning, and/or Ops knowledge, especially with Verizon Networks. Past experience with ICON, Venue, CCP, CoFEE, and SRM as well as expense and/or capital budgets.
