What you’ll be doing...

Verizon is seeking a highly motivated and talented Senior Manager with expertise in network deployment, implementation, topology & architecture, collaboration and project management.

You will be a key member of the Network Engineering team focused on deploying solutions for iEN (intelligent edge network) that drive the success of Verizon’s Networks and Platforms. You must be innovative and be able to work in cross-functional activities with partners in Planning, Project Management, Maintenance Engineering, and Operations. The Senior Manager will be responsible for activation of iEN devices, migration of legacy devices/services to iEN and decommission of legacy device/services as part of network optimization and upgrade.

In addition, you will also need to:

  • In depth knowledge of Verizon network infrastructure and architecture including but not limited to Public IP, Private IP, Converged-Core and iEN (MSE, PPR, UT).
  • Manage and lead a strong technical team of network engineers responsible for deployment, configuration and management of all IP network infrastructure devices.
  • Embrace agile methodologies and show an aptitude for being able to adapt.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineering and Installation teams and vendors to manage network deployment/migration and operations activities.
  • Be able to work with developers to define requirement for automation of repetitive task for backend and frontend scripts in Python or equivalent scripting language.
  • Manage and improve global best practices and drive consistency across the regions and network elements.
  • Data and analytics driven strategies to pro-actively minimize outages/down-time when dealing with complex deployment/migration projects. Identify and engage peer organizations to resolve customer incidents quickly.
  • Work independently, and require supervision on only complex tasks and assignments.
  • Working knowledge of IPv4, IPv6, QoS, Multicast, MPLS, IP Routing Protocols like ISIS, OSPF, BGP, L3VPN/L2VPN.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or four or more years of experience in technical organization.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Knowledge and experience with router platforms from Juniper, Cisco and Nokia.
  • Project Management experience with 4+ years of a leadership role with experience in network deployment and migrations.
  • Ability to quickly analyze situations, identify problems, and provide solutions.
  • Ability to lead and drive projects to completion and handle multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Critical thinking, problem solving abilities, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work well both independently and in diverse teams.
