What you’ll be doing...

The Verizon Military Talent Acquisition Team is charged with tactically recruiting Military Veterans for strategic vacancies within Verizon for select client groups and specific hiring projects. The Military Talent Acquisition Program Manager will be responsible for driving the recruitment strategy from all aspects of program and operations delivery, vendor management, and client management.

  • Developing and executing key programs with military groups, training initiatives, and special events.
  • Working with Human Resources team members and Verizon leaders throughout the business to share our military recruiting strategy.
  • Aligning, searching, and matching military talent through recruiting efforts for core and critical hiring needs.
  • Defining and maintaining a method of reporting to track hiring, attraction, and retention trends.
  • Establishing project schedules, monitoring milestones, and providing effective progress updates to all stakeholders.
  • Building apprenticeships, on the job training and diversity and Military programs.
  • Supervising the performance development and KPIs of the Recruitment Team to ensure diversity and Military strategies are fully embedded in all recruiting processes.
  • Overseeing strategy and drive military recruiting efforts.
  • Receiving workforce planning requests from program managers.
  • Creating objectives and deliver results based on annual performance metrics.
  • Managing onboarding, integration, and retention of military talent.

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we’re looking for...

You understand and have a pulse on what is happening in our armed forces as well as the human resources community—specifically Talent Acquisition. You believe that the most important asset in an organization is the people and you’re the one that knows how to connect military talent to Verizon openings.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Three or more years of experience managing a team.
  • Experience being a people leader.
  • Experience in Operations, Program/Project Management, Military or Diversity & Inclusion roles.
  • A willingness to travel up to 25%.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in HR or another relevant major.
  • Talent Acquisition experience. Experience in human resources programs.
  • Served in the armed forces or are a spouse to someone who has. Strong military acumen.
  • Experience with working with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and socialize strategic approaches and drive, manage, and measure output.
  • Experience developing and leading programs designed to build a strong pipeline of future business leaders. Experience working with diversity, equity and inclusion programs.
  • Collaborating skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to quickly establish and maintain rapport with people of diverse backgrounds and professional levels.
  • PMP certification or related certifications.
  • Track record managing tight timelines.
  • Presentation skills, ability to effectively communicate at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
