What you’ll be doing...

The Livingston NJ Network Creation & Provisioning (NCP) team performs remote network element commissioning and provisioning of inter/intra office T1, T3, OC3, GigE, 10GigE infrastructure facilities. You’ll be responsible for providing technical SME support to center technicians and central office personnel. You will be working on equipment and circuit turn up activities and acting as Tier 1 support for the Network Transformation project, FTTP, SES, Video, HSI, and Fast Packet services. As part of Network Transformation you will be involved in supporting T1 hot cuts on safetime and Genband G6 Media Gateway switch commissioning. You will be troubleshooting complex technical issues and interfacing with equipment installers/vendors, center and central office technicians, Project Management, Engineering, IT, and FNS Tier 2. You will also provide leadership and direction on recommendations to technical and process issues related to NCP as well as provide training as needed.

  • Take the lead to troubleshoot new and existing Network Transformation office builds to isolate technical issues and recommend appropriate action to repair.
  • Working as the NCP’s single point of contact on all Network Transformation activities.
  • Drive automation where possible by partnering with IT to capitalize on opportunities for scaling up equipment/order completions.
  • Represent the NCP in new FOA (First Office Application) project teams and ensure all process requirements and deliverables are met.
  • Be resourceful in identifying root causes to issues and partner with other organizations to resolve troubles.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives in identifying and developing solutions for department and cross-functional processes.
  • Provide effective two-way communication to help facilitate trouble resolutions, deliver hands on training and/or contribute to requirements gather sessions.
  • Provide peer support by ensuring consistent coverage.
  • Efficiently and effectively manages self, time and resources.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Associate'sdegree or two or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Ability to learn FTTP, SES, Video, HSI, Voice, and Fast Packet architectures, mobile test set operations.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A degree.
  • In depth working experience of central office facilities and tools used to troubleshoot.
  • Strong understanding of central office equipment infrastructure, fiber/copper wiring, circuit design/layout, and the ability to troubleshoot fiber/copper design issues.
  • Knowledge in Adtran TA5000, Genband G6, Nokia 7342/7360 OLT, Tellabs BPON DMAX 1200 OLT, Arris GPON OLT, 5ESS, DMS100, T1 architecture.
  • Firm awareness of what corrective actions can be taken during the day and which ones need to be handled during the safetime window.
  • Experience working on traffic bearing network equipment.
  • Experience providing technical support and/or managing complex processes and driving results.
  • Experience with systems (ie MASTARS, WFA, iVAPP, BAAIS, WFM, CoE, UUI, ACTP, ICON, AMSM, Cisco Prime, SAM, AG, CCP, IPPOC, PON NMS, VZKnowledge).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
