What you’ll be doing...

Your work will have a direct impact on our reported financial results and ensure compliance with internal controls and external legislation. You will care for a variety of tax paperwork pertaining to Power of Attorney (POA), Tax Payer Authorization (TPA), account closures, and name changes.

You will also be responsible for working with various state agencies to resolve tax notices within specified time frames. You will be expected to research and/or analyze in order to identify root cause and resolve.

  • Collaborate with ADP to resolve Federal, State, and Local tax notices.
  • Respond timely and accurately to inquiries from Federal, State & Local taxing jurisdictions.
  • Analyze payment data and work across finance functions to resolve payment issues timely.
  • Assist with Federal, State, and Local research requiring efficient and detailed analysis.
  • Work with Verizon Corporate on any intercompany transactions or refunds.
  • Research and reply to Tax Clearance Requests.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree one or more years of work experience.
  • One or more years of relevant work experience with multi-state and local taxes.
  • Experience in Customer Service and HRMS/Payroll Processing system applications.
  • Intermediate, or above, in Excel.
  • Payroll Tax experience /Multi-state.
  • Tax Notice Resolution experience.

Even better if you have:

  • CPP or FPC.
  • Ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft HRMS system applications.
  • Experience with 3rd party tax applications, i.e. ADP.
  • Good organizational, time management and communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills (both verbal and written).
  • Strong sense of urgency, proactive approach, and a solid focus on results.
  • Willingness for flexible scheduling to meet processing demands.
  • Experience of the end-to-end Payroll functional processes as well as how the Payroll functional processes integrate with the overall end-to-end Payroll Tax processes.
  • Experience in Customer Service and HRMS/Payroll Processing system applications.
  • Intermediate, or above, in Excel.
  • Payroll Tax experience /Multi-state.
  • Tax Notice Resolution experience.
