What you’ll be doing...

You will be working in a hands-on capacity within the Video Tribe and will be responsible for engineering and maintaining features and components for our suite of mobile apps for our AI-powered video product. You’ll be based in our Florence office with a hybrid work model, and you’ll be part of a global team, with colleagues in different departments and locations. Emphasis in the role will be focused on Android Development. Knowledge of and experience with iOS development is a distinct advantage.

  • Participate in product feature implementation, both independently and in cooperation with your cross-functional team.
  • Implement changes and new features in a manner which promotes efficient, reusable and performant code.
  • Participate in peer code reviews, manage criteria applied during code reviews.
  • Investigate technical issues during the full development lifecycle.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience.
  • Experience in software development.
  • Experience in Java and/or Kotlin.
  • Knowledge of Android Architecture Components.
  • Knowledge of good software development practices.
  • Knowledge and up to date with latest developments in the Android ecosystem.
  • Experience working with RESTful APIs with input to their design.

Even better if you have:

  • Good English communication skills both written and oral.
  • Experience in agile/lean methodologies and processes - ideally Kanban or scrum as a minimum.
  • Experience with customer-facing apps with an emphasis on usability.
  • Knowledge of mobile security concerns.
  • Knowledge of Gitflow, code review processes and build pipelines.
  • Ability to contribute to iOS development projects.
  • Experience with additional platforms, particularly .NET and Angular.
  • Experience with TDD and/or BDD.
  • An innovative mindset.
