What you’ll be doing...

The MS Exchange Architect will be responsible for the architecture, design, and implementation of Microsoft Exchange Server systems to be used in support of classified federal programs. The focus of this position will be designing and delivering highly-available MS Exchange systems that meet the stringent security requirements of our federal clients, requiring subject matter expertise. You will work closely with Verizon’s internal teams, like operations, project management, and engineering, as well as with external clients to ensure that all stakeholders’ requirements are met. In addition, you will provide Tier 3 application support to the Verizon operations team that will be maintaining the Exchange systems. This is an exciting opportunity to be a design authority and subject matter expert in the architecture and implementation of MS Exchange systems from scratch in a classified environment.
This position can be worked in any city where Verizon Business Group has an office location, but the primary work model will be remote.
Major Responsibilities include:

  • Consult with stakeholder groups to develop and document system requirements.
  • Design systems per stakeholders’ specifications, and client security requirements.
  • Oversee materials procurement, build, configure, and ensure that the MS Exchange systems meet security requirements.
  • Provide ongoing Tier 3 application support of the MS Exchange systems to Verizon Operations, to include system security vulnerability remediation efforts.
  • Own the design process and address critical issues. Provide ongoing systems design and engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the MS Exchange systems.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or eight or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience in designing and implementing MS Exchange systems
  • Experience with the installation and configuration of Microsoft Exchange 2013 or higher
  • Experience with the configuration of Hub and Edge Transport Server Roles
  • Experience with the configuration of Database Availability Groups
  • Experience with the creation of Data Loss Prevention policies, email security and protection (Proofpoint or similar technology)
  • Experience with Active Directory integration
  • Experience with MS Outlook client integration
  • PowerShell scripting experience
  • General SMTP experience
  • You must beeligible to obtain a Top Secret government clearance for this position

Even better if you have:

  • Master's Degree and ten or more years of experience in technology disciplines.
  • Experience as the lead enterprise architect for MS Exchange systems
  • Experience with MS Exchange architecture in federal enviornments
  • A very strong customer interfacing background, as well as superior oral and written communication skills

For part-timers, your coverage will vary as you may be eligible for some of these benefits depending on your individual circumstances.

If you are hired into a Colorado work location, the compensation range for this position is between $95,000 and $177,000 based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience.  This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
