What you’ll be doing...

This position supports Verizon’s global talent assessment and selection through consultation and project leadership in: Talent selection solutions, interview strategy and design, assessments for talent selection and development, job analysis, validation analyses, competency modeling, and legal compliance of selection practices.

  • Leading and managing Verizon’s enterprise interview program.
  • Conducting large-scale cross-functional projects to develop new selection tools for specific business groups (or evaluate/redesign current tools) using job analysis and/or competency modeling.
  • Identifying opportunities to align selection strategy with business strategy to ensure Verizon recruits and hires the talent needed to achieve critical business objectives.
  • Maximizing the business value of assessments through management of concurrent and predictive validation studies.
  • Conducting statistical/ predictive analytics with candidate and employee data to evaluate effectiveness/ efficiency of selection and assessment solutions.
  • Developing implementation guidelines, processes, communications, and training to support selection and assessment tool implementations.
  • Developing and identifying assessments for employee development.
  • Serving as an expert resource for questions regarding employment testing considerations.
  • Ensuring assessments are implemented in compliance with all relevant legal and professional standards (e.g., guiding technical documentation and analysis).
  • Leading and managing assessment and selection vendors.
  • Contributing to HR transformation projects, as needed (examples: Talent GPS, Project Aurora, Work Forward).

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Ph.D. or Masters in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, Human Resource management or related field.
  • Consulting experience in selection and assessment (e.g. corporate HR setting, external consulting firm).
  • Knowledge of validation practices.
  • Experience developing structured interview guides for employee selection.
  • Experience managing and implementing large scale selection-related projects in a corporate environment.
  • Experience creating and/or delivering executive presentations on relevant topics.
  • Experience with professional standards and practice in employment testing, measurement, and selection (e.g., Uniform Guidelines, OFCCP, SIOP, APA Standards).
  • Experience in Excel, SPSS, SAS, or other statistical packages for data / trend analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Google Slides, Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Strong understanding of employee selection and related processes, tools, techniques, and validation practices.
  • Excellent project management skills; ability to manage multiple large-scale projects.
  • Excellent critical thinking and decision‐making skills when working under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to relate to, communicate with, build alliances with and influence stakeholders and senior executives.
  • Ability to communicate data-based information effectively and concisely to corporate stakeholders.
  • Persistence in driving ideas and delivering quality solutions and deliverables against tight deadlines.
  • Experience interacting with and/or managing vendors.
  • Strong verbal and written and presentation skills.
