What you’ll be doing...

You will lead the coordination, analysis, and deployment of fiber to support the deployment of macro and small cell networks and technologies in the Central Texas Sub-Market. You will partner with HQ and Territory Teams in negotiating large scale contracts, including new fiber deployment and renewal of existing circuit inventory.

  • Responsible for the design and deployment of a reliable and cost effective transport network, including all facets of budgeting, analysis, procurement, and implementation.
  • Responsible for maintaining and forecasting the expense and capital budgets for the transport department relating to the LIT and dark fiber networks.
  • Work with internal teams meeting the regions key objectives for delivery, system availability, network capacity, and reliability.
  • Support all projects by representing the Transport team in meetings, setting delivery timelines to achieve Sub-Market goals, and assuring all team members and tasks are on-track towards successful completion.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.
  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Five or more years of experience in fiber design.
  • Experience managing large scale RFP’s, to include NPV analysis of RFP results
  • Demonstrated experience with NPV analysis.
  • Experience designing, maintaining and documenting outside plant fiber layouts and network design maps (“As Builts”).
  • Experience in leadership roles in technology management.
  • Understanding of various wireless network technologies including transport, switching, and RF (LTE, UWB, CBand).
  • Experience with Ethernet services, IP addressing, and data networks.
  • Experience developing and implementing business process improvements.
  • Demonstrated expert knowledge and proven experience with the full suite of Google Products, Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project & Visio.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • MEF; CCNA certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate contract renewals.
  • Ability to work weekends and nights as required.
  • Certifications: MEF; CCNA certification.
  • Knowledge of the following: Ciena Dark Fiber Transport Equipment, Nokia EBH, NgMLS, and eNSE routers, Cisco 9k, 1K, Ethernet product line, IP Management and INAM, Fuze SPM and Conquest CIQ, VRAN and Orchestration, CWDM/DWDM, Layer 2 and Layer 3 concepts and technologies, Fiber Management and Design, Fiber Testing and Troubleshooting, Hubbing and Switching concepts for SONET and MW, Granite Database, TESS, Capacity and forecasting in fiber architectures.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and make sound technical judgments in a demanding environment.
  • Understanding of operational concepts of various business groups including Sales, Marketing, Customer Care, Legal, Revenue Assurance, Network Assurance, Real Estate, and System Performance.
  • Ability to work on cross-functional teams taking into consideration the goal of the various internal customers.
  • Occasionally manages off-hours project conversions.
  • Experience managing 3rd party vendor relationships and/or resources.
  • Experience managing project budgets ensuring on time/budget milestones are met.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with others without conflict and achieve goals.
  • Demonstrated excellent problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated strong knowledge in Wireless/Cellular/Telecom technologies.
  • Forward thinking and preparation for new technology introduction.
  • Clear & concise communication skills.
  • Ability to articulate complex technical information in a non-technical manner.
  • Proven track record of leadership of project accomplishments including successful project launches.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
