When you join Verizon

Verizon is one of the world’s leading providers of technology and communications services, transforming the way we connect across the globe. We’re a diverse network of people driven by our shared ambition to shape a better future. Here, we have the ability to learn and grow at the speed of technology, and the space to create within every role. Together, we are moving the world forward – and you can too. Dream it. Build it. Do it here.

What you’ll be doing...

As the leader of the Machine Learning (ML) Product Manager team within the Platforms and Ecosystems (P&E) organization, you will lead a team of 5+ accomplished professionals with a demonstrated track record of success. You will act as a mentor, coach, and provide oversight to the team, nurturing their development and clearing hurdles they encounter. You will need to establish relationships with key stakeholders to ensure open communication and collaboration is never stifled.
The team works within the NBx Decisioning ecosystem to manage the delivery of probabilistic assets that predict, prescribe, and optimize the experiences being served to customers.

  • Act as consultants to experience owners to determine their needs, and whether those needs are a fit for an ML-driven solution. If they are, they provide their expertise to guide the design of the end user solution to best fit an ML-driven product.
  • Once the end user solution is defined, they collaborate with the Data Science and ML Engineering teams as they deliver the ML product, and ensure the product that is delivered meets the needs of the end user solution.
  • Finally, they help analyze and monitor the performance of the model and end user solution, iterating on the ML product as necessary to optimize performance.

What we’re looking for...

You’re a leader and have demonstrated your leadership ability as a team leader or by taking leadership roles with peers. You have experience creating a vision and strategy, then driving that to reality. You know how to influence up, down, and across groups, and you take satisfaction in mentoring others. You understand Machine Learning concepts and how they can be applied to provide the best experiences for customers. You know what it takes to move work forward, anticipating hurdles and overcoming them. You believe that collaboration and teamwork leads to the best results, and you know how to work as part of a team.
You’ll need to have:

  • This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.
  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
