What you’ll be doing...

Consultants are industry veterans and play a major role in the success of the organization. They develop business solutions through the constant modification of the existing business intelligence solutions and programs. This position oversees and conducts the conversion of data into insights that will lead to informed business decisions. They are usually responsible for multiple different tasks within the organization. They will be performing essential report development of KPI results and other metrics, including trend analysis activities across workgroups resulting in the attainment of the strategic goals. Individuals in this role are expected to have an advanced understanding of common business practices and deep experience working with data to summarize a situation or answer a question. This role will be required to work with business and IT teams to implement solutions, diagnose and correct data, and reporting issues. It is expected that this individual will exhibit independent decision-making authority in this role. In addition to their main job, they will partner and become mentors for Sr. Analysts and entry-level Analysts.

  • Function as a data expert “Data Scientist” – help to translate business opportunities into comprehensive quantitative analyses and provide technical guidance to the organization.
  • Build advanced dashboards using reporting presentation tools such as SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Qlik that will be used within all of Verizon.
  • Provide Tier 3 support and act as a subject matter expert for all SQL and scripting issues.
  • Write advanced SQL queries from multiple sources for any business problem to identify/quantify opportunities or address specific questions.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis, mine data (e.g., clustering), and prepare modeling datasets from multiple data sources.
  • Build and implement predictive models using machine learning algorithms (e.g., neural networks, Naive Bayes classifier), as well as traditional statistical modeling techniques (e.g., time series forecasting, linear and logistic regression).
  • Provide next-generation analytic insights and have the ability to review all customer data points.
  • Utilize analytical, statistical, and programming skills to collect, analyze, and interpret large data sets. Then use this information to develop data-driven solutions to difficult business challenges.
  • Effectively lift up and identify trends, articulate root causes, and outline corrective steps relative to all call center performance.
  • Provide executive-level summary results. Review and develop emerging areas of need in support of delivering and developing reporting and analysis needs in support of senior leadership and executive team; Interpret and communicate results with executive leadership (Director and above)
  • Ensure the integrity of data (within the database and the results of reports). Investigate and resolve any errors or inconsistencies in the data sources. Understand, pursue, and solve (or coordinate for the solution of the) customer issues that impede the accurate and effective use of the provided tool(s).

*In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Three or more years of experience working with SQL (Teradata, Microsoft SQL Server) to extract data from various sources.
  • Three or more years of experience with operational reporting. Developing and designing automated reporting solutions with advanced visualizations (Qlik, Power BI, SSRS).
  • Three or more years of experience with data analytics and research.
  • Three or more years of project management experience.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • BA/BS in Business Administration, Information System Management, Marketing or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in developing and delivering executive-level presentations
  • Advanced decision making skills with limited direction.
