What you’ll be doing...

As a Network Implementation Engineer, you will be deploying the next generation of routing and switching gear while maintaining our current world class infrastructure. You will be implementing and maintaining network devices at Edge locations i.e. HQ, Retail Stores, Call Centers, Garages, Central Offices, and Admin locations. Your role will be pivotal to Verizon as the work you do enables our employees to service our customers and drive revenue!

  • Configuring, support, and maintain network routers, switches and WiFi Controllers/Access Points.
  • Deploying valid configurations for implementation based upon created MOPS.
  • Following standard operating procedures for new configurations and change.
  • Collaborating with Network and WiFi Implementation teams.
  • Providing 1st Tier Troubleshooting and problem solving for network issues.
  • Interacting and coordinate with end user support in order to implement network solutions.
  • Participating internal training and be receptive to technical guidance to enhance proficiencies.
  • Implementing Operational Efficiencies by utilizing Networking Tools to automate routine implementation.
  • Working hands-on with both internal and external vendors, carriers, clients, to add or modify network connectivity and when necessary, troubleshoot and identify sources of problems and bring issues to resolution.
  • Preparing project plans, sizing, configuration, and scheduling activities with project management.
  • Inculcate SRE culture in your everyday work.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or one or more years of work experience.
  • One or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in a hands-on network role with a focus on Cisco technology (Strong knowledge of Cisco technology, including 2800, 3800, 6500, 7000-series).
  • Experience in Implementation of an Edge Network incl. Cisco Routers/Switches, SD-WAN, White box Technology (non-vender specific). Other areas of focus will be WLAN (Aruba), Monitoring Tools, Automation, Ansible, HPNA.
  • Experience working in large cross-functional or enterprise-wide project teams.
  • Experience in GSuite.
  • Packet capture and analysis experience (Sniffer, Wireshark, etc.)

Even better if you have:

  • Strong knowledge/troubleshooting skills and effective troubleshooting methods.
  • Aruba Networks certification ACMA or ACMP.
  • Experience with White box, SD-WAN Technology.
  • Ability to script in Python, Perl, or a Linux shell.
  • CCNA, CCNP, CCSA and SDN/NFV certification.
