What you’ll be doing...

As a Sales Engineer, you will partner with our Sales teams to develop value propositions. This role will also require you to conduct pre-sales activity within our most strategic, high-profile customers and prospects. You will be responsible for all technical aspects of proposed solutions, working in close partnership with Product Management, Engineering, and Post-Sales Teams (Professional Services and Support).

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with Sales to identify and create winning sales strategies and new product opportunities.
  • Communicating Verizon Connect's value proposition to technical and non-technical clients, including ''C'' level Management, VP, and Director levels, as well as End Users.
  • Proposing and designing technical solutions.
  • Responding to RFI / RFPs through collaboration with Sales.
  • Supporting trade show demos.
  • Maintaining expert knowledge of Verizon Connect products to develop and present unique solutions and maintain knowledge of emerging trends in technology.
  • Producing customer requirement documents to describe our understanding of the customer problem and how we propose to resolve it.
  • Conducting relevant and focused demonstrations to customers. Planning and preparing for such meetings with Sales colleagues.
  • Proposing best practice and innovative ways to harness our products.
  • Sharing expertise and success / fail learnings with colleagues.

Where you'll be working...

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we’re looking for...

You will have a technical background, and knowledge of web technologies. You enjoy working collaboratively with people and technology.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience.
  • Experience of working as a Presales Solution Engineer, Solution Architect or Sales Engineer.
  • Experience of delivering presentations of a technical nature to customers or potential customers.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK as the role requires (expected to be no more than 25% of the time).
  • A valid Driver's License.

Even better if you have:

  • A Master’s degree.
  • Experience of working with SaaS, IoT or Telematics products and solutions.
  • Experience of working with systems for route planning and optimization, scheduling, field service or dispatch.
  • Previous success in consultative selling.
  • Experience of working with large companies as customers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
