What you’ll be doing...

The Security Consultant is a member of Verizon’s Global Corporate Security Operations team and will be based out of a vendor location supporting a Verizon project. You will be responsible and accountable for monitoring the Physical and Logical controls implemented at the dedicated Verizon Secure Work Space at the vendor facility and for evaluating the efficacy of these controls periodically.

  • Conducting reviews of the physical security controls in place at a Verizon dedicated space within a vendor facility and identifying vulnerabilities in the overall security infrastructure in place.
  • Conducting regular audits of security records and procedures to ensure that processes are being enforced.
  • Conducting investigations for reported possible violations and security breaches.
  • Performing Event/ Security Log Monitoring, Session Monitoring and carry out reviews of all laid down physical and logical security control processes.
  • Assessing risks and suggests effective controls to protect Verizon initiatives/projects
  • Drawing up test procedures to assess the effectiveness of the security controls in place.
  • Reporting findings to the respective stakeholders (both Verizon and vendor) and follow up on them for timely remediation/closure.
  • Creating and publishing metrics and present the same to both the stakeholders and management.
  • Conducting awareness sessions for the vendor resources working on Verizon Projects. It must include awareness on Verizon Security policies and other security related industry best practices.
  • Collaborating with Verizon business and support teams and work towards ensuring the required processes are in place from a risk and compliance standpoint.

What we’re looking for...

You understand the importance of information security for companies and their customers, and appreciate the magnitude of the risk of emerging security threats to their reputations and businesses. Identifying risks or gaps in controls, and analyzing and solving complex problems comes easily to you. You have a knack for conveying difficult messages to people at all levels, and you are willing to take a stand on important issues. You’re self-motivated and you work well independently and with teams to achieve outstanding results.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Four or more years or relevant work experience in Physical Security, Insider threat or related Security discipline.
  • Three or more years of working experience in IT network security, risk management, vulnerability assessment, security breach investigation, ethical hacking, forensics investigation.
  • Willingness to work in Makati area on a graveyard shift schedule.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% or less.

Even better if you have:

  • Experience in PCI DSS, ISO27001, ITIL, or COBIT frameworks.
  • Professional certifications such as Active Security+, CISSP, CISA, CISM, CFE, or CEH.
  • Experience in information security, or information assurance position including security.
