Verizon’s Intelligent Networking Professional Services group is developing its capabilities in EMEA. Our Intelligent Networking technologies include Wi-Fi, Routing and Switching, Software Defined WAN (SDWAN), Datacentre networking, Network Access Control (NAC), Private 5G, MEC.

The Principal Cellular Consultant will be responsible for developing trusted technical advisor relationships with internal organizations. You will consistently demonstrate the value of Verizon Network PS by identifying areas of improvement for the Network PS team, maintaining a high level of quality and professionalism within assigned tasks, and increasing organizational exposure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, level of effort scoping, pricing, and management of partner selection.
  • Development of service offerings within the cellular technology space.
  • Opportunity tracking and reporting, management of transitioning sold engagements to delivery, and development of scoping tools and guidelines.
  • Evolve and support the growth of the network PS practice through offering development, engagement with partner vendors to identify and vet new technologies and proposed solutions, and assistwith the vetting of potential team members.
  • Sustain a leadership role within the team through mentorship, sharing experience and knowledge through technical sessions, and leading by example, both through professional interactions and the continued pursuit of expert level knowledge within multiple fields.
  • Accept individual ownership of critical issues, creatively thinking through to develop resolutions.

Where you’ll be working:

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher with a STEM focus (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) OR experience within military service within a communications specialty (i.e. tactical data communications, technical controller, satellite communications, cyber security, etc.) OR experience within network engineering and other data communications fields.
  • Knowledge of Internet of Things solutions, designand deployment in areas such as DAS, Private LTE, 5G, RF management, cellular RAN technologies, and enhanced packet core.
  • Industry certifications within the network engineering field such as CCIE (full), JNCIE (full), or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of solution design – experience with leading a design-related discussion to fully vet solution requirements and develop a proposed design fulfilling said requirements.
  • Knowledge of other technologies and their network requirements/impact and experience in producing comprehensive yet understandable technical documentation (e.g., design document, diagrams).
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A degree.
  • Certifications and/or significant exposure in other technical areas such as MCSE, CEH, security, UC, etc.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and interest in, emerging technologies such as IoT, SDN, NFV, etc.
  • Experience with any of the following: cellular WAN technologies and solutions, WAN optimization, Wireless LAN, datacenter technologies (load balancers, datacenter switching, etc.), virtualization technologies and concepts (Hypervisors, orchestration, software defined datacenter, NFV, etc.), security appliances and concepts (firewalls, IPS/IDS, identity management, access controls, etc.).
