What you’ll be doing...

Our customers have high expectations for our eCommerce Information Technology platforms - speed, responsiveness and constant availability. That’s where you come in.

As a Senior Engineer, you will be working with other team members to design and implement optimal solutions to complex problems and meet critical business needs. You should be willing to challenge designs when suboptimal efficiencies and/or errors are found to ensure the code is delivered adhering to the industry standards.

  • Collaborate with GTS and business stakeholders to implement business requirements in accordance with the company's software architecture standards.
  • Work closely with business owners and other subject matter experts on requirements gathering and design.
  • Implement Agile practices on all project/development work.
  • Ensure system reliability, scalability and conformance to best security practices.
  • Work on the development and delivery of high quality tested code working closely with a team of other developers across multiple locations and time zones.
  • Responsible for code review of other developers.
  • Drive the consolidation of tools and automation of performance results and data.
  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to ensure code quality and work on timely delivery of fixes for any defects.
  • Ensure tight privacy, compliance and security controls are maintained.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with all phases of the software development lifecycle, including system analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation.
  • Experience in application development using JAVA and Spring Framework.

Even better if you have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience in designing and building large enterprise scale software solutions.
  • Experience in application development using REST APIs, IDEs, Oracle / Postgres / MySQL / ElasticSearch.
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum and CI/CD pipeline.
  • Experience in DevOps Tools - GIT, Jenkins, JIRA, Test Driven development - JUnit, SonarCube.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices in enterprise-class software development and agile methodology.
  • Knowledge in AWS and cloud platforms.
  • Experience with Microservices, Netflix OSS Stack, MQ, Public Cloud/AWS.
  • Experience in UI development using React JS or comparable frameworks along with HTML and CSS.
  • Experience with automation tools, continuous integration and delivery tools.
  • Experience in working and coordinate across geographically diverse software development teams.
  • Strong communication skills including technical writing and presentation.
