What you’ll be doing...

As part of our Data Governance and Architecture team, you will architect, design, and build applications that are being rolled out to all of Verizon for our data governance platform. You will have exposure to big data and data protection that are critical the solutions we provide. Applications include, user access review application which is used for our Artificial Intelligence & Data applications and a data sharing application that is now the prototype for the North Star data sharing process for Verizon.

You will lead the security hardening efforts for the Verizon Data Catalog, Data Marketplace, and other Data Governance platforms that are key to Artificial Intelligence & Data's strategy for data governance solutions for Verizon. In addition, you will work on a solution for automating the application data source onboarding process which will dramatically accelerate the onboarding process and keep labor costs low.

This team is part of our Artificial Intelligence & Data Organization is an exciting new center of excellence supporting all of Verizon, reporting into the Global Network & Technology team. Our team will be a catalyst to Verizon's future in creating networks that move the world forward through the power of artificial intelligence and data.

• Architecting project solutions using design patterns, frameworks and design user friendly applications.
• Leading, coordinate with peer developers, and provide technical guidance to other developers to build applications with complex coding.
• Coordinating with requirements team, testersand end users to document clear and concise application requirements for data cataloging.
• Coding in SQL, .NET, Java, Python, and other languages as needed for web-based data driven solutions for security, privacy, and audit compliance.
• Leading efforts to review Data Protection and Data Governance requirements to comply with security requirements for the new corporate wide solution for data cataloging as well as other departmental applications.
• Coordinating discussion and deliver projects on time per scope & LOE thru DevOps and Agile methodologies.
• Coordinating, lead and set up proper expectations, timelines and milestones that are agreeable between business, program management and AI & Data teams for assigned deliverables.
• Managing interactions and expectations for stakeholders up to VP level for assigned deliverables to ensure all understand the requirements and agree on the deliverables.
• Navigate through complex problem statements, understand and propose ways to break them into multiple phases for systemic and quick delivery whenever necessary.
• Ensuring existing application fixes are done promptly.
• Ensuring existing applications have proper data to run with minimal issues.
• Updating platforms to comply with security and infrastructure requirements.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

An expert workflow automation technology professional who has demonstrated abilities to solve technical and business problems related to data governance and workflow automation. Ideally you bring experience from the telecommunications domain using the latest technologies (AI/ML, microservices, container-based big data applications). You are a technical expert but you also know what makes business sense and how to get it done. A successful new automated data governance solution can literally redefine the course of a business and this knowledge inspires you. You motivate others to do their best work. When making decisions, you expertly balance the needs of all parties.

You’ll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Four or more years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with Workflow automation like Red Hat Process Automation Manager or similar BPMN 2.0 compliant workflow management system.
• Experience with .NET, Java, Python, Spring Boot, JSON, REST API, Microservices.
• Experience with container based platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift).

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• MBA or Master’s degree.
• Experience in Data Governance and Metadata Management.
• Experience with IBM Cloud Pak for Data/Watson Knowledge Catalog.
• Agile and/or Lean experience and/or certification.
• Experience with Javascript frameworks like Node JS and React.
• Experience with Databases such as PostgreSQL DB, NoSQL databases, Hadoop, Teradata.
• Experience with Kafka.
• Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform/Google Big Query.
• Strategic thinking, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.
