What you’ll be doing...

We are the Verizon Enterprise Privacy Program/Project Management Office that directly supports the Verizon Privacy (Legal) Office. We sit within Verizon’s Global Networks and Technology organization in the Enterprise Data Governance team, which provides a unique visibility into both Verizon Privacy operations and cutting edge data governance frameworks, technologies and use cases.

The Process Engineering Specialist is dedicated to operationalizing, maintaining, maturing and continuously improving Verizon’s Privacy Legal and Enterprise Privacy PMO controls. The Privacy Controls Framework is owned by Enterprise Risk Management and consists of every Privacy process within Verizon, so this is a unique opportunity to be a critical stakeholder in Verizon’s privacy compliance community.

Process Management

  • Partners with Enterprise Risk Management and Privacy Legal to operationalize and maintain Privacy Legal and Enterprise Privacy PMO controls.
  • Establishes and maintains the control performance master schedule and ensures control activities, reviews and deliverables are completed in accordance with the schedule.
  • Maintains and monitors the controls repository to ensures control deliverables (evidence) is available to support ERM controls testing.
  • Develops and maintains detailed control instructions (i.e. playbooks) for standardization and to ensure business continuity.

Process Engineering

  • Evaluates the effectiveness and efficiency of controls and identifying and proposing process improvements.
  • Leads process improvement projects from concept to implementation and monitoring in partnership with ERM and control stakeholders.

Controls Testing Support

  • Serves as the primary point of contact to Enterprise Risk Management for Privacy Legal and Enterprise Privacy PMO controls.
  • Supports ERM controls testing by collaborating on the controls test schedule, ensuring availability of defined controls evidence, reviewing findings, managing remediations and providing testing feedback.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • A Bachelor's degree or four or more years of equivalent work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant experience.
  • Process engineering or project management experience.

Even betterif you have one or more of the following:

  • A degree in computer science, engineering, or a similar field.
  • Executive-level communication and deck-building skills.
  • Expert-level knowledge of and strong relationships with key stakeholder groups, contacts and processes (Privacy, Product Legal, Enterprise Risk Management, IT Security, Technology, Consumer, Business, HR, Marketing, Sourcing).
  • Working knowledge of data management best practices.
  • Advanced skills in Google Workspace tools (e.g., Docs, Sheets) and Smartsheet.
  • Privacy or compliance experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma and PMP certifications.
