The Finance Organization

At Verizon, we are building a world-class Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) organization. We have begun a comprehensive program to streamline processes, enhance systems, realign the organization and add opportunities for personal skill-building and professional growth. FP&A Consumer Business Unit Team

Move beyond compiling data and help tell the story behind the numbers. The Business Unit position offers opportunities to drive better business partnering and insights, while growing your FP&A leadership and interpersonal skills. You are considered a business partner and your contributions will make a difference. You’ll become involved in, but not limited to, reporting and analysis of results.

  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly and quarterly results packages to be reviewed with senior staff. These packages include analysis on all components of the P&L and the drivers of them.
  • Working closely with the Financial Planning & Analytic Services (FPAS) team to ensure automated and manual reporting is accurate and relevant.
  • Analyzing financial and operational results to derive actionable and impactful insights.
  • Presenting concise, data driven narratives to business sponsors and senior staff to drive the company's priorities.
  • Preparing monthly analyses of business trends and budget variance of financial results and Key Performance Indicators to be used in management reviews.
  • Becoming proficient in all relevant VCG financial systems and dashboards in order to pull available automated data.
  • Developing and analyze financial and operational drivers of Verizon Consumer Group.
  • Communicating with stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

Where you'll be working…

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Willingness to travel upto approximately25% of the time.

Even better if you have:

  • A Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
  • Experience in the technology and/or telecommunications industry.
  • Professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA).
  • Experience and knowledgeof corporate financial planning, reporting & analysis.
  • Experiencce and knowledge with costing/profitability methodologies and processes.
  • Knowledge of common business and cost drivers, financial statement analysis, and deep-dive analysis.
  • Experience with the preparation of General Ledgers.
  • Knowledge of FASB requirements, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Experience in PMR, Essbase, ThoughtSpot, Smart View, Hyperion Planning, and Hyperion Strategic Finance.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to focus on the details.
  • Experience with Google Suite.
