What you’ll be doing...

This position has a key leadership role for partner settlements at Verizon. It involves collaboration with product development, marketing, IT, and legal to develop and maintain settlement processes that ensure timely and accurate settlements of amounts owed to our content partners, and revenue-share amounts due to Verizon. This position will drive the settlement practices of the future for Verizon's latest products and technologies like the +Play Market Place, and many of our 5G Fixed Wireless partnerships. The leader will be expected to drive future state thinking and efficiencies in our systems and processes.

  • Accountable for the oversight of 15 employees setting and implementing strategy and processes for $500M in monthly settlements. Provides guidance and mentorship to team members and professional development as needed.
  • Must be able to drive collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to negotiate favorable settlement contracts and develop unique and innovative settlement solutions. Accountable for understanding new products and services and associated vendor settlement dependencies.
  • Responsible for driving new settlement processes by utilizing technologies and concepts both internal to Verizon as well as those outside the business.
  • Able to take complex topics and “tell the team's story” to leaders and executives in an impactful way in order to drive process and systems improvements.
  • Owns multiple SOX controls, therefore required to be well versed in establishing and maintaining effective controls, accounting, billing, and ERP systems used within Verizon in order to drive the creation of a settlement approach and implementation for new products that balance cost, customer experience, and vendor experience with the necessary controls.
  • Through continuous evaluation of our settlement processes, drives the roadmap for new settlement methodologies, understanding how new options could be leveraged to provide a competitive advantage for Verizon gaining internal efficiencies, enhancing controls, and reducing cost.
  • Utilizes self-audits, analytics, and visualization to proactively uncover issues, and ensure a proper control environment.

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's Degree or four or more years work experience.
  • Six of more years of relevant work experience including collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder expectations, as well as report creation and evalution.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Even better if you have:

  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or MBA.
  • Eight or more years of telecommunication experience with five or more years of Financial Services experience.
  • Excellent storytelling and persuasion skills, particularly for technical and complex concepts, with the ability to tailor communication approaches for audiences from various functions and levels within the organization.
  • Ability to maintain strong relations with cross-functional teams and external partners and influence others to align stakeholders and successfully execute a system and support roadmap.
  • Project management and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of data mining, SQL, and Tableau with strong analytical skills with the ability to review results and evaluate the impact of initiatives.
  • Ability to manage and deliver frequent, ad hoc requests from various channels.
  • Motivated, self-starter, highly collaborative, able to produce high-quality results in high-pressure situations in a dynamic environment.
  • Proven skills in developing strong process controls, policy designs, process engineering, and cost management.
  • Knowledge of systems like Verizon Settlements Gateway, Vision, SCM, ACSS, and the Enterprise Datawarehouse.
