What you’ll be doing...

As a Senior Manager - Technical Data Product Management you will manage a team of engineers, data exchange managers, data fulfillment managers working on high priority data governance platform, products and solution.

You will be primarily lead the design solution architecture for data enablement, data management initiative extending to data privacy, protection, fulfillment and policy enforcement through technical implementation.

Your team will serve as an innovation hub for building and executing on solutions to enabling Data Marketplace, Data Fabric with NextGen state of the art technology using Data Virtualization on On Prem, Cloud and Hybrid systems. You will serve as the ‘bridge’ to Data Governance and Architecture team leadership, responsible for ensuring effective execution, developing the product management team, and engaging key stakeholders both within and outside of the Artificial Intelligence and Data Organziation.

  • Ensure delivery of critical data products/initiatives, including supporting an enterprise wide data product catalog and tools stack related to product infrastructure, product version management, and Business features & outcomes.
  • Define the data exchange, fulfillment, and data protection needs of the data products.
  • Define and coordinate resources needed from across DG&A and Verizon to enable effective execution of goals
  • Develop and track KPIs related to execution status, resourcing needs, and health of initiative portfolio
  • Define and manage development roadmap in line with strategic vision
  • Design and implement a self-serve marketplace solution that enables publisher, subscriber, users, governance body, data quality and business stakeholders to collaborate and enable data sharing responsibly.
  • Design and manage solution for data product and data assets onboarding by solving the puzzle between data catalog, policy, protection rules and security within various platforms/solution under one marketplace view
  • Translate stakeholder requests (BRDs) into proper design and implementation for team to work globally
  • Outline processes and execution cadence to evaluate, track, and communicate status of data exchange initiatives
  • Work with IT data governance, security and policy teams to source authoritative data and prepare the right framework that is reusable for self-serve solutions.
  • Able to manage multiple projects, setup priorities, timelines and right expectations as needed.
  • Design and promote the use of self-serve solutions for data product and assets onboarding.
  • Ensure operational readiness of the services and meet the commitments to our customers regarding reliability, availability and performance.
  • Lead the implementation of an agile product and project management methodology
  • Define a ‘leadership development model’ along with appropriate trainings for data architecture product manager direct reports, to outline and build core skills
  • Engage closely with—and ensure products/projects meet the needs of—key stakeholders across Verizon and within Verizon DG&A, including data strategy, governance, and operations,
  • Build relationships and collaborate closely with technical leaders within Verizon’s GTS (Global Technology Services) group to enable effective technical implementation of data projects and products
  • Serve as a thought partner to Data Architecture and DG&A leadership team in defining and executing enterprise strategy.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in a data / product management role with managingteams across onshore & offshore
  • Experience with at GCP configuration, caching and GCP data Governance & Visualization
  • Experience in an enterprise or cross-functional role.
  • Experience on design, building, and supporting self-serve large-scale enterprise systems in production
  • Experience with J2EE Full stack, NodeJS, Microservices, RESTFUL/API Implementation knowledge for building self-service tooling from UI to back end database
  • Data Catalog experience of any kind (Oracle, Teradata, ICP4D, Informatica, Collibra).
  • Experience on any Data Virtualization solution.
  • Experience working with data warehouse technologies (Teradata, Hive, Hbase), Google BigQuery, and RDBMS (Postgres , Oracle, SQL Server).
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A degree. A Master’s (or PHD) in Computer Science or Information Technologies
  • Preferred experience in data solution architecture & implementation.
  • Demonstrated excellence in end-to-end data product development and product lifecycle management
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, setting up the right timeline and expectation with various orgs (PMO, business owner, business enablement, security, etc) .
  • Established cadence in product development, management, versioning and delivery
  • Preferred experience in data solution architecture & implementation
  • Experience on any responsible data exchange framework.
  • Experience with distributed data/computing tools: Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, MySQL, etc.
  • Experience / had exposure working with any of file/data ETL instrumentation tool (NIFI, Kafka, SSIS, Informatica, Alteryx )
  • Knowledge of visualizing/presenting Data using: Tableau, Qlik, Thoughtspot, Looker, any GraphDB (neo4j, Tiger), D3, React framework.
  • Strong critical thinking concerning trade offs across capabilities and requirements of different systems.
  • Excellent verbal, visual presentation and written communication skills with ability to articulate concepts and ideas to diverse audiences at the right level.
