What you’ll be doing...

Working closely and reporting to the EMEA Lead, Employee and Labour Relation, the Labour Relations Consultant is responsible for supporting and delivering Verizon labour strategy in France.

In this role, you will partner on a daily basis with the country HRBP and with our HR CoEs (GHRS, L&D, C&B, etc.) to ensure the effective and commercially oriented delivery of a full range and scope of labour relations activities, covering 2 different legal entities and several offices.

You will also serve as a trusted advisor on sensitive and/or critical issues that pertain to people and related matters, including employee relations; organizational and workforce planning, job design, and change management; performance and career planning management; compensation and pay strategies; guidance on collective bargaining agreements and other legal and policy considerations.

You will support and drive the social climate of the company, the development and implementation of the social strategy in order to build a collaborative relationship with the Trade Unions and Works Councils of Verizon in France as well as the application of employment legislation both individually and collectively.

• You will help build and develop Labour Relations strategies and policies that drive a positive employee relations culture across the Verizon Group in France
• Manage and partner closely with People (HR) teams and management to drive change and transformation programmes through engagement with the employee representative bodies in France (WCs and Trade Unions)
• You will take direct responsibility for engaging with the employee representative bodies in Verizon in France to deliver the HR, LR and business strategy in respect of all employment and labour relations matters, including information, consultation and/or negotiation processes as required. This includes:
• You will be required to represent Verizon in its relations with employee representative bodies, in particular within the framework of any discussions, meetings with elected employee representative bodies and/or negotiations with Trade Union representatives;
• Manage Summons, and where appropriate in terms of legal standing in that employer, chair meetings with WCs and/or Trade Unions and ensure that the provision of information which is appropriate and compliant with local laws.
• Manage all requirements regarding the I&C processes (manage formalities, timelines, follow up of the meetings, etc.) and facilitate the implementation of the projects; participate to the roll-out of the HR projects. Manage the expertise requirements and provide management support and liaise with the relevant stakeholders.
• You will negotiate and conclude with trade union representatives or any other member of staff duly mandated in the company all company agreements and/or site agreements which may be required in Verizon France. Provide strategic and legal support to HR and local management in Verizon on the same.
• You will ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory provisions relating to the representation of employees within Verizon in France and the exercise of their rights.
• Manage and establish, in collaboration with the country HRBP and local management, correspondence and relations with relevant labour authorities (in particular the labor inspectorate) and competent authorities or bodies.
• You will provide strategic and legal guidance to country HRBP or regional/functional HRBPs and management on legal compliance and best practice relating to information and consultation and/or negotiation processes as required.
• Manage and build labour relations capability in country or across EMEA Human Resources through knowledge sharing on relevant labour relations development, case law, etc.
• Manage and monitor trends in employment and labour relations practices and advise on appropriate action where relevant.
• Develop strong relationship management with various external advisory bodies and other key stakeholders.

• Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience.
• Strong command in written and spoken English
• Essential current and detailed knowledge and experience of 5 years in employment law and Labour Relations
• Willingness to travel.
