The Finance Organization

At Verizon, we are building a world-class Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) organization. We have begun a comprehensive program to streamline processes, improve systems, realign the organization and add opportunities for personal skill-building and professional growth. We’re finding new ways to add value and provide strategic support. This is the kind of work we do. FP&A Corporate and Business Unit Team

Move beyond compiling data and help tell the story behind the numbers. The Business Unit facing positions offer opportunities to drive better business partnering and insights, while growing your FP&A leadership and interpersonal skills. You are considered a business partner and your contributions will make a difference. You’ll become involved in, but not limited to, pricing decisions and new initiatives to develop new products and services. You can have an impact on new business growth opportunities through development of business case scenarios.

  • Generate reporting on potential impacts to the capital budget.
  • Maintain and validate the accuracy of business unit submissions
  • Assist key stakeholders including Business Unit FP&A, Business Unit Strategy, Corporate Strategy and others in creating the multi-year capital plan.
  • Coordinate key capital decision meetings.
  • Identify ways to further automate the capital planning process
  • Investigate and resolve complex issues that arise with a sense of urgency .
  • This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we’re looking for...

You thrive in a fast-paced environment, interacting with multiple partners, systems, and processes to achieve compliance, accuracy, and efficiency. People recognize you for your strong analytical and problem solving skills. You know how to handle sensitive data and your attention to detail allows you to spot errors that others tend to miss. You are well-organized, handling opposing priorities with ease, and never missing a deadline. As a strong communicator, you build working relationships quickly and enjoy collaborating across functional groups to achieve great results.

You’ll need to have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or one or more years of work experience.
  • Experience in Google Workspace with Microsoft Office Suite.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or another quantitative focus.
  • Experience in analyzing a large amount of data and creating / building / updating financial models.
  • Experience with coding and creating algorithms (e.g., Python, R, etc.) and/or data visualization tools (e.g., Qlik, Tableau).
  • Knowledge of financial terms and accounting standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to focus on the details.

You'll also need:

  • Willingness to travel.
