What you’ll be doing...

This position supports VBG (Verizon Business Group) Strategy and Business Transformation and will drive execution and the evolution of Business Product. The Manager will strategize, guide, and work across functions to ensure VBG Transformation sustains focus and delivers material value. The Manager will also provide executive-level support, planning, and execution expertise to ensure successful outcomes, including hitting established financial targets.

  • Lead VBG Product Transformation program by developing and executing major workstreams. Align Transformation initiatives to business unit strategy and BAU plans. Define and prioritize project activities and coordinate resources to achieve project goals.
  • Identify opportunities to accelerate value capture within the Transformation program. Develop action plans, secure owners, and identify mechanisms to validate value capture.
  • Identify new sources of value; scope, create business cases for new initiatives. Drive through business case approval and initiative owner transition, or, through the lifecycle, depending on subject matter and materiality.
  • Support development of overall product strategy and portfolio; ensuring outcomes across Corporate Strategy, VBG Strategy and Verizon LOBs to enable the Verizon north star.
  • Support annual and multi-year capital planning and strategy to protect and grow profitable revenue streams, balancing allocation for margin, revenue, and innovation. Use expertise to help align execution for success based on market insight and performance analysis, ensuring insight programs inform product-specific strategy and path-to-market approach. Integrate market insight and the customer voice into the DNA of the business and achieve an enterprise-wide focus on innovation.
  • Supportthe ongoing development and optimization of the product development processby overseeing the transformation of the process into competitive asset. Implement ongoing process improvements and tools necessary to drive efficiencies, greater velocity and better ROI.
  • Work within a complex and often ambiguous environment, to drive rigorous, fact-based recommendations to senior management or other executive, functional, or regional management, while supporting syndication with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Facilitate the development of meaningful internal operational benchmarks that can be owned by operational leaders and be used to accelerate growth and drive out costs by establishing and pursuing best-in-class performance across the organization. To the extent possible, develop external benchmarks to help ensure that goals resulting from internal benchmarks are appropriate.
  • Communicate effectively verbally, visually and quantitatively; able to translate complex technical concepts into engaging and informative designs. Ability to tell a story with data to an executive audience.

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience supporting large Transformation programs in the telecom and technology space
  • Experience designing and executing both revenue and cost transformation levers
  • Process Management experience in Agile execution
  • Experience with Clarity, JIRA, Smartsheets, Shibumi and Confluence
  • Experience working across cross-functional teams in transformation execution
  • Business knowledge in the telecom and/or technology space
  • Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with developing, implementing, and tracking metrics, data analysis, and reporting at the organizational level
  • Experience in working with senior staff members and front line employees
  • Experience creating and presenting presentations to all levels of an organization
  • Experience handling extremely confidential information appropriately

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • MBA or Masters degree
  • Agile Practitioner Certification (PMI-ACP, SAFe Agilist, ICP-ACC).
  • Ability to support cross-functional teams to meet business objectives and influence co-workers while fostering strong working relationships
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience supporting large Transformation programs in the telecom and technology space
  • Expertise with Clarity, JIRA, Smartsheets, Shibumi and Confluence
  • Experience working in a tier-1 management consulting organization
  • Experience as a team lead with proven facilitation, change management, and problem solving experience
