Responsible for the assembly, installation, monitoring, testing and maintenance of telecommunications and associated electronic equipment and wiring per published equipment specifications and Verizon’s operational procedures, both at technical facilities and customer premises. Performs service order, provisioning, repair, installation and maintenance activities on central office equipment, adjunct devices (e.g., Voicemail, etc.), inter-office trunking and terminating facilities, outside plant fiber and Right of Ways, radio terminals, Regens/CEV’s, LIT building POPS network plant facilities, and on customer premises, including customer-provided equipment and wiring.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Installing, monitoring, commissioning, testing and maintaining equipment associated with providing telecommunications services in both technical facilities and customer property. 

  • Assembling, installing, testing and maintaining transmission equipment. 

  • Maintaining new and existing circuits through troubleshooting and fault isolation techniques. 

  • Coordinating the testing and turn-up of services with all involved providers. 

  • Reviewing, interpreting and analyzing services requests, work orders, and circuit diagrams.

  • Climbing ladders and poles, working aloft, perceiving differences in wire and cable colors, distinguishing audio tones, and moving/lifting items generally not exceeding 100 lbs.

  • Working evenings, weekends, holidays and unscheduled shifts as determined by the needs of the business.

  • Valid state driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.

  • Related Associate Degree or 2+ years of relevant work experience.
