What you’ll be doing...

Verizon is seeking a strong supervisor to join their team at ourNetwork Management Cente. As an Intelligent Edge Network & Global IP Supervisor you will be responsible for the front-line management of the next generation of engineering teams performing surveillance and repair of the various Verizon backbone and infrastructure networks in addition to the new IEN. This is a position that may rotate between the day, evening, and overnight shifts based on the needs of the business. You will provide tactical strategy and direction for all outages and impacting network events. Additionally, you will operate as an escalation facilitator, support projects, create opportunities for enhancement, and manage the group through priority events. The IP NMC Team is dedicated to evolving Operations to meet the demands of running the Network of tomorrow. Read below on the functions a Verizon Leader will perform.

  • Strategic development / tactical implementation of global response plans to network-impacting events.
  • Mentoring a team to the betterment of the individual and the organization.
  • Supervising a cross-functional group of engineers supporting multiple networks and technologies.
  • Updating and maintaining scheduling.
  • Processing root causes analysis of outages and major network events.
  • Tactical Outage and Situational Management.
  • Handling special requests.
  • Analyzing and Driving critical transformation business initiatives.
  • Performing rotational on-call duties as well as work rotational weekends/holiday/multiple shifts.

What we’re looking for...

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of Network Equipment and Systems.
  • Management experience with multifunctional teams.

Even better if you have:

  • Operations experience inside of a 24x7 Network Management Center.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/ Business Management/Engineering in addition to four or more relevant years of work experience.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to present information to executive management.
  • Capability to communicate at all levels of the business.
  • Proven leadership skills and business acumen within a large organization.
  • Five or more years of multidisciplinary leadership experience, preferably in the Telecommunication Industry, managing organizational budgets and projects.
  • Technical understanding of IP layer 1/2/3 protocols.
  • Established track record in managing a complex process and driving results.
