What you’ll be doing...

This is a thought and technical leadership position for VBG Strategy and Transformation with responsibility for developing and executing the overall product strategy and aligning it with both Corporate and VBG goals. This position will work closely with senior leadership across VBG and key partners on a product and technology strategy that delivers long term growth, a profitable product portfolio and a focus on market demands and delivering customer outcomes. Responsibilities include designing solutions, evaluating vendors, creation of cohesive architectures in conjunction with internal and external business partners.

  • Develop overall product strategy and ensuring alignment with Corporate Strategy, VBG Strategy and Verizon LOBs to enable the Verizon north star.
  • Using an understanding of the marketplace, technology and our own internal capabilities, design strategic frameworks that can be sustainably implemented across product towers in support of key programs and objectives.
  • Assess, define and create/evolve Product Architecture artifacts.
  • Partner with technology and business leaders from multiple Verizon teams (across the enterprise) in defining and evolving the next generation Product Architecture.
  • Ensure consistency and technical alignment across Enterprise (across Consumer, Business and Corporate Systems) groups.
  • Work with interorganizational architecture and engineering teams to lead conceptualization, evaluation, and architectural design workshops in support of 1, 3, and 5 year strategic roadmaps for VBG product portfolio and platforms.
  • Deliver unified product and platform strategies to senior leadership and drives alignment from stakeholder organizations against strategies.
  • Collaborate on use cases, technical requirements, product design, and functional testing to ensure products adhere to aligned strategy and interoperate against other products in the VBG portfolio.
  • Ensure high engagement, extensive collaboration and strong partnerships with stakeholder organizations. Influence direction by raising visibility of trends, issues and opportunities across the organization.
  • Engage with annual and multi-year capital strategy and planning to protect and grow profitable revenue streams, balancing allocation for margin, revenue, and innovation.
  • Align execution for success based on market insight and performance analysis, ensuring insight programs inform product-specific strategy and path-to-market approach.
  • Integrate market insight and the customer voice into the DNA of the business and achieve an enterprise-wide focus on innovation.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into engaging and informative designs.
  • Tell a story with data to an executive audience.

Where you'll be working...

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes mostly work from home and occasional days in theoffice days as needed

This role can be located in other valid Verizon locations.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree of four or more years of work experience
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Six or more years in a technical product strategy and development role
  • Six or more years in a technical product role focused on emerging technologies like 5G, technology as a service, IoT, etc.
  • Six or more years in a deeply technical engineering roleacross one or more of the following areas: 5G, NFV, Containers, Kubernetes, DevOps, Routing/Switching, Virtualization, and Datacenter with proven accomplishments in product development and product management.
  • Experience in strategic planning and competitive analysis.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Master’s degree or MBA.
  • Ten or more years technology/industry experience engaged in strategy development.
  • Proven experience commercializing cutting edge technologies/solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of emerging technologies like 5G, MEC, and Network as a Service.
  • Proven ability to identify/source new partners for new use cases.
  • Strengths in collaboration and stakeholder management.
  • Track record of identifying and delivering creative opportunities to achieve business organization goals.
  • Ability to effectively manage relationships with cross-functional partners to drive projects toward completion.
  • Strong organizational and team building skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, PowerPoint, Excel, Word and other standard office computer applications.
