What you’ll be doing...

This position will provide oversight and project/operational management for Verizon Marketing’s Language and Translation services team. You will have a unique opportunity to support a team while also provided growth opportunities in leading the management of translation partners to provide localization, quality control and related services to the entire Verizon organization, focusing on, but not limited to, Spanish content for the Hispanic segment.

  • Oversees external translation partner ecosystem, ensuring quality standards are met, costs are under budget and performance metrics are tracked and documented.
  • Leads and coaches a team of bilingual project managers and quality control specialists, ensuring translation/localization projects are completed from beginning to end.
  • Helps shape consistency of the Spanish and other languages brand voice in coordination with brand teams and multiple business units and channels.
  • Develops, maintains and socializes Verizon language assets: glossaries, style guides, translation memories.
  • Ensures all regulatory, legal, compliance and branding guidelines are followed to the letter.
  • Leverages knowledge and understanding of language technology, localization industry, creative and production best processes, to facilitate optimal quality of deliverables, streamline customer experience and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Implements and helps raise awareness on localization and its best practices across the company to make sure they are followed and downstream issues are minimized.
  • Briefs outside agencies and freelance resources on Verizon's brand voice, terminology and style for and provides regular feedback on translation quality.
  • Manages expectations with clients and departmental teams. Negotiates timelines and budgets and ensures that all deadlines are met.

Where you’ll be working:

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience in translation and localization project management.
  • Fluency in Spanish.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • University degree in Localization/Translation or equivalent, with Spanish as a focus.
  • Able to stay focused under pressure, prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written, verbal, communication and presentation skills in English.
  • Excellent project management skills, highly organized, and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Good grasp of translation technology and localization industry best processes, including web/app localization.
  • Experience leading and coaching a team.
  • Resourceful and solution-oriented.
  • Fluency in additional languages.
