Verizon Connect is transforming the way people, vehicles and things move through the world. We put innovation, automation and connected data to work for customers to help them become safer, more efficient and more productive via our fleet management products and services. Whether it’s an in-cabin smart dashcam, a mobile app for pre-trip inspections, a tablet carried around the job site, or a display on the office wall showing the status of the entire fleet, our IoT experience spans multiple contexts and industries, serving small family businesses to large enterprises all over the globe.

We’re looking for a mixed methods UX Researcher to join our global Experience Team. You will be an embedded researcher with Reveal Field and Integrations Services, a cross-functional team that focuses on enhancing fleet efficiency and productivity through specialized scheduling tools and a marketplace of 3rd party integrations. You’ll be expected to leverage a variety of qualitative and quantitative techniques to respond to the varying needs of each project.

You will be part of an extensive mentorship network, coached not only by your manager but by multiple talented, experienced researchers who will inspire you to do your best work and help you to progress in your career.

  • Plan and conduct strategic research in your product area to ensure we understand the right problems to solve for customers.
  • Help the cross-functional team in your area of the product to become experts on your users, the jobs they need to complete, and their valued outcomes.
  • Identify and plan for tactical research to investigate optimal solutions during the design process.
  • Support designers and other team members to conduct their own usability testing and customer conversations as part of our democratization of research.
  • Empower your fellow researchers and other cross-functional team members to break out of silos, socialize research across Verizon Connect, and raise the bar on quality of research work.

In thishybridrole, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’re a researcher with demonstrated experience conducting UX research within a product team. You have excellent listening skills and a strong sense of curiosity to uncover the ‘why’ behind our customers’ needs. You have strong storytelling skills and enjoy working on a variety of projects that have a quick turnaround time. You’re someone who knows the importance of collaboration, whether with other researchers or with product and engineering professionals on an integrated team.

You’ll need to have:

  • A bachelor's degree or comparable training in HCI, Human Factors, Psychology, Anthropology, Design Research, Media Studies, or a related, user-centered / human-centered domain.
  • Relevant years of experience in UX Research
  • Experience planning and conducting qualitative studies.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A strong toolkit of mixed methods research experience.
  • Experience in Lean UX or working on an agile team.
  • Experience with complex systems, like APIs / integrations.
  • Experience guiding a project all the way through the research process, from stakeholder alignment to communicating insights
  • Experience with a continuous discovery model.
  • Experience across a variety of users, products, and solutions, including hardware products.
