What you’ll be doing...

  • Providing first through third-level technical support for the MST network, including troubleshooting data, sd-wan, voice, video, wireless, retail next cameras, e-sign gateway, F5 load balancers, and cloud routing.
  • Documenting customer issues and network problems in Verizon proprietary systems and ServiceNow platform for troubleshooting incidents/problems and tracking.
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting DS0’s, T1’s, SIP, PIP, EVPL, Fiber, P2P, FIOS, EVDO, Fixed Wireless backup, and DSLs circuits.
  • Responsible for customer LAN, data center, wireless environment, LAN equipment (e.g., Meraki, Nexus Switches) and F5 LTM/GTM load balancers).
  • Engaging vendor support (e.g., Cisco TAC, IBM Support) and working through equipment related-problems.
  • Engaging carrier and vendor support (e.g., Verizon Business, Lumen, LEC/CLECs support groups, IBM, Cisco, NCR) support groups to aid in circuit and equipment trouble diagnosis and repair.
  • Sending text/email pages to personnel with outage information, updates, and/or on-call engineer engagement.
  • Running outage teleconference bridges effectively and professionally.
  • Taking customer calls and answering chat messages to understand technical related issues.
  • Completing daily/nightly turnover.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience with the Internet Protocol (IP) suite, including protocols such as BGP, OSPF and EIGRP, packet flow and their relationships and integrations in large-scale networks.
  • Knowledge of network monitoring tools (e.g., HP OpenView, CIC-Netcool, CUCM, SolarWinds, Thousand Eyes).

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A degree.
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow trouble-ticketing database system used for Incident and Change Management.
  • General understanding of the overall industry direction with regard to telecommunication technologies and the applications they will support.
  • Knowledge of Cisco products (i.e., 2800, 3700, 3900, 4500, 5300, 7200, ASR, Meraki).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively document network outages and activities performed to restore outages.
  • Excellent customer care skills, including experience taking customer related technical calls.
  • Previous networking experience in NOC / NCC environment.
  • CCNA and / or CCNP Cisco certifications.
